I have to admit I was skeptical on getting a pressure cooker because of all the horror stories you hear about them "exploding" all over the ceiling. Although I am a stay at home mom, I have two small children and am very active in their school activities. Being away from home most of the day, I was searching for a way to have the same quality dinners we had when my children were still at home with me during the day. I gave in and bought the Presto 8 qt. pressure cooker. It is absolutely wonderful. I can make meals that normally require hours to cook in a fraction of the time. Even my husband is impressed with how often I use it and how fast dinner can be prepared. I recommend if you have a large family to go for the 8 qt. instead of the smaller one. You will be amazed at how quickly it fills up when you prepare several different items at one time. You can make an entire meal at once.
