Pros:Performs like a big griddle but uses half the space
The Bottom Line: I would buy this again. It performs as promised and uses little space.
A big family-size griddle is fine for occasional use or if you're feeding a crowd, but it takes up a lot of counter space and is simply too large for regular day-to-day use. I didn't know a smaller one was available until I saw the Presto Liddle Griddle at my local Kohl's. I was lucky enough to find one on sale for only $20.00, and I grabbed it.
The cooking surface is about 8-1/2" x 12" including a narrow grease tray to the side. It's perfect for a couple of grilled sandwiches, a quesadilla, pancakes or eggs and bacon. I haven't tried hamburgers or chops yet but I don't see why it wouldn't handle those just as well.
The cord and controller are one unit and detachable for cleaning or storing. It heats up fast and comes with a little booklet that suggests correct temperatures for different foods. The Liddle Griddle has a non-stick teflon surface and is immersible (with the cord disconnected) but cleans up well with a damp dishcloth after normal use.
You'll need a screwdriver to attach the two side handle/leg units (the only assembly that's required out of the box) but after that you're good to go.
I would definitely recommend this griddle for anyone who would rather not haul out the giant griddle or a frying pan just to make one or two sandwiches.
