nate873's Full Review: Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven Model 03430
I am currently living in military housing that has a small kitchen with no oven. All I have is a stove top and a microwave. Not even thinking one day at the grocery store, I bought a frozen pizza, cus I just happen to be a bachelor, so I am a big fan of frozen pizzas and beer. :)
To my dismay, when I got home I realized... "I don't have an oven! DUH!!!" So the next day I went to the store to find one of those Pizza Oven things I saw on TV, but I couldn't find them anywhere, in fact most salespeople had no clue what I was talking about. My next try was online, of course. I finally found one at OurHouse.com. There were other places that had it, but this was the only one that was listed with Ebates. I was able to get 10% cash back and another $15 from NetFlip. So even though I spent $90 on it, I was able to recoup at least a little cash back on it.
Anyway, now on to some actual helpful info for you... :)
I have only used this twice so far, but I am already in love with it. I made a thin crust pizza and a rising crust pizza. Both turned out perfect! Not only were they VERY yummy, but they were quick also. They probably weren't any faster than in the oven, but the fact that you can actually watch it cook just seems to make it cook faster. The little timer on top is kinda loud and annoying though. (yes I get annoyed easy).
The thin crust pizza took a mere 15 minutes to cook, and the rising crust one took about 30 minutes. At the end of the recommended time both pizzas were evenly cooked. I personally think it is better than a conventional oven, but that is probably just cus I don't have one of those. :)
The pan where the pizza sits and rotates in a non-stick metal pan, which easily comes out for cleaning. So as long as I use paper plates, there is very little cleaning for me to do. Another big plus for a bachelor like me. :)
One thing I don't really care for is the fact that there is no on/off switch. The timer controls when the heater unit is on and off, but it continues to rotate until it is unplugged. Not a huge deal, but somewhat annoying. Also this thing is a rather large appliance, so storage could be a problem, unless you are like me and have plenty of cupboard space, since besides my George Foreman grill, this is the only appliance I own.
