I’ve wanted a Presto Pizzazz Rotating Oven from the first time I saw it on a late-night infomercial years ago.  Still, I felt it was a little wasteful to spend money on a pizza oven when I could just pop a pizza into my regular oven.  So, I never got around to splurging on one.  But, I was talking to one of my friends on the phone when the infomercial came on for the Pizzazz oven and I happened to mention how I’d like to have one.  Although I wasn’t hinting for a gift, this friend bought one for my birthday this year and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I often call the Pizzazz Plus Rotating Oven a gadget but it has become one of the most-used items in my kitchen.  I never knew I could use it for so many other foods such as grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets, pizza rolls, cookies from cookie dough, Hot Pockets, etc.  I have a little granddaughter who seems to love anything that can be prepared on the oven.  I’ve found it so easy to use that I am eating more and more frozen and convenience foods.  My waistline notwithstanding, I love this contraption!

The unit does not take up a lot of counter space and is a pretty sleek looking appliance.  It is very easy to assemble right out of the box.  There is a removable baking pan and the heating unit.  That’s it—nothing else to put together.  This was a big plus since I’m not great at assembling things.
A short power cord with a polarized plug is attached to the heating unit.  Attaching the baking pan to the unit is very easy.  Simply slide the pan over a drive shaft on the unit and it slips into place.  After adding food to the cooking pan, set the cooking timer. As soon as the unit is plugged in, the pan will start to rotate.  When the time has elapsed, a bell will ring and the heating elements will turn off.  If a longer time is needed, simply reset the timer.  If you want to stop the cooking before the timer goes off, just push down on the time dial and turn to “0”.
 
To choose where you want your heat directed (upper, lower or dual heat), simply choose by setting the dial located on the top of the unit.  For instance, if you want a crispier pizza crust, the dual heat setting can be selected so that the pizza cooks on the top and bottom at the same time.   A little trial and error will show just which setting is right for you for different foods.

After cooking, use potholders to remove the baking pan from the unit.  If the unit is still rotating, removing the baking pan will turn the unit off.  Since the baking pan has a non-stick covering, nylon, plastic or wooden utensils are recommended as metal ones might scratch the surface.  It is also recommended that foil never be used on the unit.

A booklet, with cooking time charts and a few recipes, is included.   The booklet also lists some troubleshooting questions and answers.  For the time I’ve had the oven, I haven’t had any problems. 

I recommend this unit for anyone who wants a quick and fun way to cook many kinds of convenience foods.
