wonder1981's Full Review: Presto 04820 PopLite Popcorn Maker
I purchased the Presto PopLite Popcorn Maker a few years ago. I was tired of microwave popcorn due to it's artificial ingredients. I had tried making popcorn on the stove using a kettle but it was somewhat messy and time consuming. Also, not a good idea on the new ceramic or glass top stoves. So, I purchased the Presto PopLite and I have been so impressed with it. First off, it's super easy to use and it produces light, fluffy popcorn every time. I have absolutely no burned pieces and I love that!
Secondly, my dogs think it's the coolest thing to watch it pop, ha ha.
Thirdly, you can decide how much or how little seasoning and butter you want to add. The Presto PopLite even comes with a handy dandy butter melter.
Like most products, there are a few down sides. It will shoot popcorn into the bowl where you want it, but it will also propel pieces all over the counter top and floor.
Another issue, and this is a worrisome one to me, there is no off switch! You literally just pull the electrical cord out of the socket when you want it to stop. It's still running full force when you do this. I was taught that pulling the electrical cord while something was still running is a big no no. Sometimes, when I pull the cord, I can actually see the electrical "juice" coming from the socket. It looks like a flash of blue. I find that worrisome, but I can't for sure if it's a hazard or not. Just thought I would mention it.
