This is a must-have for anyone bottle feeding on the go in the cooler months. Our daughter would drink room temp water when it was warmer but as the months turned colder room temp formula caused her to refuse her bottles. We tried the type that plugged into the car, but these took WAY too long to heat, plus you needed a car, which was not convenient if you were out on foot. Basically the product comes with an outer pouch which holds the inner plastic insert. The plastic insert is full of liquid and you situate it around the bottle you want to heat. You then set off the chemical reaction in the liquid of the insert by bending a plastic type thing which causes the liquid in the plastic insert to heat up, it also hardens. It's been awhile since our child was a baby but I recall having a warm bottle in 5-10 minutes, 15 max. It is good because you also can't really overheat it as it only gets so hot and the chemical reaction ends. The insert is reusable by heating it in boiling water. We used ours over and over again, always carrying some formula powder, a bottle of water and two of these travel heaters. The absolute only thing about them that is not ideal, is that they add a little bit of bulk and weight to your diaper bag, since the insert is full of liquid, each maybe weighs a pound or so?
