Pros: Proactiv repairing lotion really works!!
Cons: Proactiv cleanser is too harsh on sensitive inflamed skin.. skip the kit!
The Bottom Line: Skip the kit and just buy the Proactiv repairing lotion and mix and match with products that work for you. It's basically trial and error.

My skin
I have suffered acne for as long as I can remember! It has been way over 10 years and I cannot even think back to when I had completely clear skin.
My acne however was never bad enough to be prescribed accutane or other severe treatments but it sure was persistant!!
Products I have tried
Without listing them one by one cos I am sure this review would go on for ever if I did it that way.... let's just say I had tried just about every over the counter product there was, from the natural to the chemical, from the gentle to the harsh, scrubs, creams, lotions, serums, cheap to expensive, chemist to salon.
I tried pills, vitamins, and a few prescription creams and pills also from the doctors.
There would be good periods, and bad periods, but I never experienced "clear" skin for longer than 2 days.
My own research
I spent hours and hours surfing the net reading about acne treatments and products, reviews and medical reports. And I learnt that benzoyl peroxide was one of the latest and more effective treatments. I started using Benzac, a benzoyl peroxide cream from my chemist and had good results. Although never really clear, it controlled my acne say about 75%. I went thru tubes of this stuff and used it for about 3 years but my skin went through a cycle of clear, then irritated as the benzoyl peroxide was just getting too much.
Discovering proactiv
A very sweet girl from an online forum had read my desperate posts in search for acne cures and she gave me a brand new bottle of proactiv repairing lotion absolutely free simply because she had had such success with the product and wanted to share it with me.
Being another benzoyl peroxide treatment I was abit sceptical and worried it would irritate my skin but I was wrong.
The consistency is quite thin and feels like a moisturiser rather than an acne treatment. She told me to apply just a very thin layer all over the acne prone areas, which was my entire face.
It felt soothing actually and not drying at all like my Benzac.
My skin felt moisturised sometimes I didnt even apply moisturiser after using it.
I would use about a pea size for the entire face.
It worked quite well for me and I saw results in about 2 weeks so I went out and bought the set.
The verdict
The repairing lotion definately worked for me! It cleared my face more than other products had ever done that for the first time I even got commented on for the improvement in my skin!
The cleanser was grainy and gritty... way too harsh for my sensitive skin. I kept this as a once in awhile exfoliating treatment.
The toner was nice. I can't say whether it did much use but I 'felt' it was helping with the reparing lotion.
The moisturiser was quite standard.
Of all the proactiv set I think you can't go past the repairing lotion.
