I had watched the infomercial about 10-15 times before I went the their website and ordered the Proactiv system. I have had bad skin since I was about 13 years old and I have tried countless over the counter products. Most over the counter products worked for me for a little while but eventually my acne would become immune to the treatments and my face would break out again.

Once I ordered the products it took a couple of weeks for it to arrive, I live in Canada so I didn't expect it to arrive that fast. The kit comes with three products:

Renewing Cleanser: It is a mildly gritty lotion that cleanses and exfoliates your skin. It's not good at removing make-up so I use Noxzema first then I wash with the renewing cleanser. It contains benzoyl peroxide to help kill acne bacteria. I love the way it makes my skin feel soft and smooth.

Revitalizing Toner: This is my favorite part of the system. The toner doesn't contain alcohol so it doesn't burn or dry out my skin like every other toner has on my skin. It's very soothing to your skin.

Repairing Lotion: This is the real acne fighting part of the system. The lotion helps clear up the acne you have and stop new pimples from forming. You don't really need the other parts of the system because I had run out of the cleanser and toner so I was just using the repairing lotion for a while and I didn't get any new pimples. But the one thing you might want to be aware of is that the benzoyl peroxide in these products can bleach fabrics. My pillow case used to be gray but since I've started using these products before going to bed my pillow case now looks pink.

You also get a refining mask with your first order, but there is nothing special about that, it's like any other oil absorbing mask you find in drug stores.

This system is very expensive and it is automatically sent out to you every 60 days, although I called and changed it to 90 days because of the expense. The bottles are fairly small, only 4 FL. OZ. for the cleanser and toner, and only 2 FL. OZ. for the repairing lotion. I try to use as little as possible and I only wash my face once per day rather than twice as they recommend. So every 90 days it costs me about $49.50 US. If you live in Canada you have to pay the GST, PST and a $5.00 handling fee to Canada Post on top of Proactiv's 39.99 + shipping. In Canadian dollars it costs me about $77 total with taxes.

Even though it's very expensive, I wouldn't go back to anything else. My skin hasn't been this clear in years, I no longer have to try and cover up all my blemishes with make up. My skin doesn't hurt or feel all dried out and peeling from acne medications I used to use. If you can afford it I would recommend giving it a try.
