Pros: It works
Cons: Maybe the cost(worth it to me)
The Bottom Line: When you have tried everything else, you have nothing to loose. I was skeptical too. If it doesn't work return it.

| victoriasmum's Full Review: Proactive Solution Renewing Cleanser |
In June 2002 we found out we are having another baby! I was obviously so very excited. Unfortunately just a couple of months down the road, I was greeted with a less than wanted pregnancy symptom…that being Acne. I had the ‘glow’ with my first and I looked so forward to attaining it once again. After all you are so incredibly happy at this time in your life and people are looking at you all the time, the last thing you want is Acne. Now I am by all means not talking about a zit or two. I came down with horrible painful pimples in just about every spot on my face(though my chin and upper lip seems to be a breeding ground) I started setting my alarm in the morning so that my makeup was already applied by the time my husband woke. Some mornings I cried when I would see that ‘new’ visitors had arrived while I slept.
My mother has had Acne her whole life and about 4 months ago finally ordered Pro Active, she figured she had tried just about everything, and what did she really have to lose? Well when my Mom saw me she just about cried. She took it upon herself to order me the Pro Active system. She called and doubled her expectant order and then couriered it to me. I received it in a week as opposed to the 4-6 it would have taken had I become a new customer and placed the order myself. The plan was, if I liked it and saw a difference, I would place my own order and start my own regular by monthly shipments of Pro Active.
The first step in this skin care routine is the Pro Active Renewing Cleanser. It comes is a small 4oz bottle. You need only a dime sized amount to cleans your entire face so this 4oz will go a long way. The Renewing Cleanser has teeny tiny little scrubbing beads which help to exfoliate. These scrubbers are extremely delicate and nothing like the sharp scrubbers in some products. They really are beads so there are no sharp edges. There is a barely there scent. The bottle does not have a pump, but comes with a tiny little hole opening so there is no worry of spilling into your hands, there is great control over how much you squeeze onto your fingers.
I used the entire 3 step system the first night. Upon waking in the morning, my skin was a little bit red and there was itching around my jaw line. This initially worried me a bit, but I have heard from other users and on the bottle itself that this is a possibility and just use the products a bit less until your skin adjusts. Obviously if your skin does not ‘adjust’ you must discontinue use. After cleansing my face that morning(and skipping step 3) and then applying my own moisturizer the itching was completely eliminated. Why I have no idea, but it was in deed gone. It is recommended that you cleanse your face with the Pro Active Renewing Cleanser for 1-2 minutes. This allows the benzoyl peroxide to do its thing and also for the exfoliating beads to slough of any dead skin. I noticed during my morning wash that a few of the pimples had really hardened and became sloughed off during cleansing. Now I in no way thought things would happen this quickly but it did in fact do quite an impressive job in the first night alone.
At the one week mark, my acne has been cut in half. How do I know this you ask? I actually wrote down how many pimples I had and where on my face they were located. For example- right cheek * * pimples. I re-counted at the one week point as was astonished to see that the number had been cut by a little more than half. Of course there is still some redness in the areas some of the pimples were, but there is no bump or sore in the spot, just some redness. Unfortunately my upper lip is still suffering the most and I am hoping to see the good results continue. I am actually writing this review over the course of treatment with the Pro Active Renewing Cleanser. I started using all 3 step twice a day after 2 days and I have had no further irritation with using this product like I had experienced on the first night.
In the end I have to say that I am very impressed with the Pro Active Renewing Cleanser. Upon waking each and every morning there was a significant change in my skin. Admittedly every so often new blemishes would come up, but did not last. The cycle of the new pimples was like nothing I have seen before, it would be there one day and gone the next. I will most definately be ordering my own kit. The only thing that I would recommend to Acne suffers is an anti-redness cream. Pro Active sells there own as do some other facial care companies like Neostrata. I think that for the best results this should be used in conjuction with the kit if you want to see even more dramatic results. I only say this because the redness from a pimple can stay on your face for a long time. I have the type of skin where these marks have stayed up to 6months or more. So although there is no pimple there is still a need for coverup.
I am aware that this product is considered by some to be expensive. I myself was nervous to tell my husband that I wanted to become a regular subscriber to the system. However after adding up what I would pay for product after product(that did not work) and a facial every 6 weeks, plus the cost of prescriptions for Acne(which by the way I discontinued using as soon as I started the system) I was actually ahead! I know in my heart that if you are an Acne sufferer, and you achieve the results I and many others have, you too will find it worth the cost.
*Please remember that this product does not work for everyone. However there is a 60 money back guarantee, so just go for it!*
