Along the path of combating acne, I have tried numerous skincare regimens. These have varied in price and establishment purchased from. As an adult acne sufferer I was becoming exceptionally frustrated in attempt to find a product line that would help. That was until I tried the Proactiv Solution system.
Two Stanford-trained dermatologists, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields created the Proactiv Solution system. To date many teens and adults have used this line with success, including celebrities: Judith Light, Vanessa Williams, and Stephaine Seymour. One of the Proactiv products that I use daily, morning and night, is the Proactiv Solution Repairing Lotion. It is easy to apply and has worked along with the Cleanser and Toner to provide clear complexion. This lotion goes on smooth, dries fast, and works well under foundation or with the Oil-Free Moisture on top of it.
This lotion, one of several Proactiv products, retails for approximately $21.95 for the 2 oz bottle or can be purchased within various kit options. Although this lotion can be purchased separately I strongly recommend using the Basic 3-Step System which includes the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and the Repairing Lotion. I have purchased this lotion solo and kit-inclusive but always use the Lotion in conjunction with the Cleanser and Toner. It is likely that you will reap substantial savings when purchased within a kit option. Normally my purchases are made via QVC.
If you are interested in trying the lotion, but hesitant with regard to purchasing the full size, I recommend purchasing the Mini-Maintenance Travel Pack. This quaint set includes the 3-step program, Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Tone, and Repairing Lotion, and retails for approximately $15.00.
While, in my experience, some lotions that are intended for acne-afflicted skin can emit an offensive odor, Proactiv Solution Repairing Lotion remains non-offensive. The fragrance has a mild medicine scent, Benzoyl Peroxide, but isn't overwhelming. Best thing in my opinion, others (and boy does my youngest have a sensitive nose) haven't mentioned that I smell like a medicine bottle. Further, I really don't notice the fragrance after applying.
It is my opinion that this lotion is easy to use, product claims are true, and that it is an affordable option for those with acne-afflicted skin. I recommend this lotion, but as mentioned, suggest using it along with the cleanser and toner.
