| vassalage's Full Review: Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion |
So I have never had bad acne but I do have large pores and an uneven skin tone. I was told about proactive from a friend who suggested it. I waited for the order to show up and as soon as it did I opened it and tried the 3 step process. At first it kinda tingled and burned a bit but I thought it must mean that it is working.
The next day I did it again but this time there was even more burning. I was starting off with only once a day use thinking that my skin might have to adjust. After the pain of feeling my face burn from what I believe to be a chemical burn. The feeling is similar to having a sunburn and applying product that has fragrances. It was horrible I decided to cut down on the amount I was using as well as the frequency hoping that it would help. It didn't.
The redness on my skin got worse and I began to get such dry irritated skin that I was getting crazy wrinkles. I would compare to putting on a gel face mask. Your skin feels tight like you can't move it and there looks like there is a layer covering your skin. In this case it was my actual skin and it had developed such a weird texture that I all of a sudden had a zillion noticeable WRINKLES! that hadn't been there a week ago before I started the regime. I had people asking me if I was feeling well because I looked so tired (the brand new wrinkles) as well I looked flushed (nice way of saying I was ruddy).
My skin hasn't fully recovered yet and it has been a full week since I used the product and started constantly slathering at least a millimeter thick of lotion on my face every half hour. I had nightmares my skin was coming of in chunks because it was so dry. I'm still not able to wear makeup over it with out it getting irritated. I have never had sensitive skin. It has always been a bit dry but other than the enlarged pores I have had relatively nice skin. I feel horrified at what has happened to my face. It is extremely embarassing to go to work looking old and sunburned at the age of 23.
