| abbydog9's Full Review: Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion |
I generally have clear skin with one or two pimples every couple of weeks. I wanted to try Proactive, because I was getting married and thought it would be something good to use just in case. I started using it at least four months before the big day to make sure it would have enough time to work.
During the four months, I continued to get my occasional pimples, but they did clear up faster than they normally do. I really liked the texture of the cleanser which left my skin feeling clean and soft. The downside was that the peroxide in the cleanser and lotion made bleach spots on my good towels. There are no warnings on the product to be careful of bleaching, and I ruined several towels before I figured out Proactive was responsible. (At which point I switched to white towels!) If you use this product, be sure to thoroughly wash your hands before drying them.
Proactive did come through for me, and I had no major blemishes to worry about on the most stressful day of my life. I stopped using it immediately after the wedding, because the benefit (pimples that clear up quickly) did not outway the negatives (ruined towels and expensive face wash). Had I not had a single pimple in the four months, I would still use it, but I got them just as frequently as I do when I use the normal brands (nuetrogena, noxema, etc.)
My mother had a very bad breakout recently. We have the same skin (occasional pimples) so a full blown breakout is unusual for her. She couldn't get rid of her pimples for at least a month. I bought her a starter kit, and she saw results within two days. Her skin totally cleared within a week. (Unfortunately, she was staying with me the first night she tried it and ruined another one of my towels.)
If you can afford the starter kit, I definitely think the system is worth trying. If you have pretty good skin and the price is a budget breaker, I'd stick to your normal routine.
