| momtograyson's Full Review: Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion |
Proactive Solution Repairing lotion is the third step in the Proactiv Solution Sytem. When used together, the products in the system work together to clear up skin, and keep future break outs at bay.
The Repairing Lotion comes packaged in a 2 fluid ounce bottle in the set. The bottle is "leak proof" and you can turn it upside down with the cap off and the product will not spill out. To dispense the product, turn the bottle upside down and gently squeeze the sides. As with the other products in this system, a little goes a long way, so only dispense a little each time you use the system.
In my opinion, the Repairing Lotion has a pleasant, soothing scent, and it is not over powering.
The Lotion is light weight, and on the "watery side," so it does not take much to cover your face.
The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide 2.5%, so this product may bleach hair and clothes. This product is NOT alcohol free, and cetearyl alcohol is listed as the seventh ingredient on the label. If over drying or peeling occurs, limit use to once a day or once every other day. I have not had any problem with this product causing either of these symptoms, and I use it once or twice daily.
Directions recommend applying the lotion 1-3 times daily. I suggest using 1-2 times daily, as this product can be drying. Use this product after cleansing, and after your toner dries on your skin. Use a sunscreen when going outdoors while using this product.
My skin has improved dramatically since I started using the system! I use the repairing lotion one to two times a day, and I follow it with the moisturizer that came in my kit. I'm not sure how this product would work on it's own, but I assume it would help some because it contains benzoyl peroxide, which is the active ingredient in many acne topical creams and lotions.
