| victoriasmum's Full Review: Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion |
Repairing Lotion is the 3rd and final step in the Proactive skin care line. The lotion follows after your Renewing Cleanser and Revitalizing Toner.
It comes in a small 2oz(60ml) bottle. The bottle is not a pump, but is equipped with a small hole in the top to prevent over spill and wasted product. Repairing Lotion is a *leave on* acne treatment that should be applied 2 to 3 times a day. It is made with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. The lotion is oil free and helps to heal existing blemishes and prevent new ones from forming.
I find the Repairing Lotion very light and easy to apply. A small amount blends effortlessly over your entire face. I have had no problems with stickyness or buildup after applying the product. There is no scent to this product so there is no worry of smelling like a medicine cabinet when you leave the house. I usually follow with a moisturizer in the morning and then follow with my make up application. In the evening the lotion is my final step before bed and I apply nothing further. This treatment can cause some dryness so a moisturizer is recommended.
This lotion may take some getting used to by those with sensitive skin. You may want to start out using this product once a day and then slowly work up to 2 to 3 times daily. Though they recommend 2 to 3 times I stick with 2 as I dont want to rewash my face through the day. Also I cannot see this 2oz bottle lasting as long as the other pieces in the system if you are using it that much.
I have acquired excellent results with this system and I know that most of the credit goes to this leave on miracle. I saw a significant change within a weeks time and was greeted daily with further improvement.
This product may work well on its own however I have only used it in conjunction with the other products by Proactive. If you are an acne sufferer, you are probably best suited to give the entire system a try.
There are a few things I wanted to mention about this line and since these recommendations do not fit into any one particular product in the line I figured they would best be suited here on the review of the final step.
*Avoid your eye area at all cost when using this system. I use eye makeup remover before cleansing for my eye area. Be careful not to go anywhere in the area of your eyes, these products cause extreme dryness in these delicate areas and you will find premature wrinkling effects.
*Take your time introducing the Proactive line to your skin. It can be rather drying and irritating. You will be eager to jump right on the 3 step bandwagon and eager for results but it is not worth it. Slowly introduce each product daily. If a reaction or irritation developes take it slower. If irritation persist, this is not the product for you.
*Keep an open mind. What may be a miracle product for one person may be a nightmare for another. However you have nothing to loose if you give it a try. If you have suffered from acne for a long time or are relatively new to it distruction, this may be the answer for you.
*Discontinue use of other Ance treatment product while using the Proactive system. this may cause excessive drying and irritation. Only mix acne medication products on the advise of your doctor/dermatologist.
Good luck to you
