Pros: Smoothing, refreshing and clears your skin
Cons: Maybe the cost
The Bottom Line: Yes the toner is expensive, but with all the other lotions and potions that don't work that you try, you may actually save some money.

| victoriasmum's Full Review: Proactive Solution Revitalizing Toner |
I am writing a review on all 3 steps in the Pro Active line. Some of this review may sound familiar because of that. Please skip down to **** for information on the Revitalizing Toner.
In June 2002 we found out we are having another baby! I was obviously so very excited. Unfortunately just a couple of months down the road, I was greeted with a less than wanted pregnancy symptom…that being Acne. I had the ‘glow’ with my first and I looked so forward to attaining it once again. After all you are so incredibly happy at this time in your life and people are looking at you all the time, the last thing you want is Acne. Now I am by all means not talking about a zit or two. I came down with horrible painful pimples in just about every spot on my face(though my chin and upper lip seems to be a breeding ground) I started setting my alarm in the morning so that my makeup was already applied by the time my husband woke. Some mornings I cried when I would see that ‘new’ visitors had arrives while I slept.
My mother has had Acne her whole life and about 4 months ago finally ordered Pro Active, she figured she had tried just about everything, and what did she really have to lose? Well when my Mom saw me she just about cried. She took it upon herself to order me the Pro Active system. She called and doubled her expectant order and then couriered it to me. I received it in a week as opposed to the 4-6 it would have taken had I become a new customer and placed the order myself. The plan was, if I liked it and saw a difference, I would place my own order and start my own regular by monthly shipments of Pro Active.

The Pro Active Revitalizing Toner is Step #2 in the Pro Active skin care system. It comes in a small 4 oz bottle and is applied after the Renewing Cleanser and before the repairing lotion. This toner is green in colour with a very light fresh scent, almost a non existing scent really. You apply the toner with a cotton ball or pad. I recommend a quilted cotton pad, this allows for more control on application and less waste being absorbed into a cotton ball.
I really enjoy this toner, it is almost lotion like, if that makes any sense. It is very soothing after the cleansing. It feels very smooth and refreshing. You must wait for this to completely dry before moving onto Step#3. The Revitalizing Toner is alcohol free and this alone is a feature that I love. I find the toner plays probably the least ‘beneficial’ part of the skin care regimen, and I only say that because it does not contain the benzoyl peroxide, however, I really enjoy the cool, refreshing application. So it would not be one I would skip. It is also mentioned that the purpose of the toner is to prepare your skin for Step#3. Of course if you read the ingredients below it does contain it very own beneficial and skin soothing properties.
Ingredients include: Purified Water, Glycolic Acid, Polysorbate-20, Aloe, Chamomile Extract, Rose Water, Witch Hazel Extract, Glycerin, Panthenol, Allantoin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium PCA, Methyparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Hydroxide, Benzophenone-4, Tetrasodium EDTA, FD & C Blue No. 1. FD & C Yellow No. 5.
At the one week mark, my acne has been cut in half. Of course there is still some redness in the areas some of the pimples were, but there is no bump or sore in the spot, just some redness. I have had no irritation with using this product and am impressed in the difference it has made in my skin. I will be ordering my own system, and hope to continue to enjoy the outstanding results for a long time to come.
Please remember that this product may not work for everyone. I have read in other reviews that some are allergic to Aloe. I am sure that skipping the Revitalizing Toner would be suggested in that case and just try the rest of the system. Things may or may not clear up 'overnight' it may take a full 60 days to see a remarkable difference, or it may only take a week or two. Remember that most Acne sufferers have suffered for years and so is 60 days really that much time? Good luck to you!
My review on the Renewing Cleanser Step#1 in the Pro Active system.
