Pros:Reasonably priced, automatic incline and speed control.
Cons:Noisy, heart rate monitor is inaccurate
The Bottom Line: Overall, pretty pleased; not expecting perfection in a treadmill of this price range.
I purchased this treadmill, which was on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods, after looking at several other ProForm models. I chose ProForm because it fit into my price range and included features that I wanted, such as automatic incline, heart rate monitor and easy to use speed control. Also, ProForm seemed to get reasonably good ratings when I checked around. Initially I looked at models at Sears that had such extras as "I-Fit technology," fans or CD players in the console, etc., but determined that these features were not worth my paying at least $100 extra.

After bringing the treadmill home, I found that the instructions for assembly were not very clear, but after a couple of hours, my husband and I got it together.
My first impression was that the thing seemed to be quite noisy and vibrated quite a bit. We tightened some things up, but ended up removing the device for holding the bed up for storage altogether...it vibrated horribly, and the screws did not seem to fit properly. Also, the wheels do not seem very sturdy for the weight of the machine...we keep it in one place usually, but for other folks that might be a concern.
Overall, except for the loudness of the machine, I am pretty pleased. I did email ProForm about this, and was told that it was normal for this machine to make some noise. I suppose in the environment of a store, the noise does not seem quite as loud as when you bring it home?
Also, I don't believe the heart rate monitor is very accurate; instead of the grip feature on other models, this one measures your thumb pulse, and it seems to be quite touchy and not usually correct.
Overall, however, it is a fairly decent machine for what I need it for (walking). I doubt that it would be very durable for running long periods, etc. I do like the speed control and automatic incline. I also like the graphic of the 1/4 mile track to show you how far you've gone.
The belt seems pretty smooth, and the cushioning is decent.
The pre-programmed workouts are a bit daunting, I don't use them. There is really not a "beginner" level programmed in.
I am satisfied for now, but may upgrade in a few years.
