Finding the right treat for your dogs can sometimes be a difficult problem. First and foremost, I want the treat to be healthy and good for my dogs, but at the same time, I want the maximum in flavor and taste. After all, a treat is a reward of sorts, and I want the rewards that I give my dogs to taste good to them, but not at the expense of their health. I bought an 8 ounce pouch of Purina Carvers Roasted Beef Slices for my dogs, and I think this product delivers good value in both the health and taste departments.
Purina Carvers Roasted Beef Slices are actually medallions in irregular shapes which are 80% real beef, and they're made with no byproducts. My inspection of the pouch label revealed that the other ingredients consist of soy flour and certain additives to promote freshness and to preserve the slices. In addition to the natural beef flavor, garlic and rosemary seasonings are added to give the slices more flavor. The slices are oven cooked, so fatty cooking oils are not present to present health problems for your dogs.
As I said, these slices resemble irregularly shaped medallions. At first glance, you might think that they might have the consistency of beef jerky, but that's not the case at all. Instead, the slices are really soft and tender, and they're easily torn apart if you want to give your pet less than a complete slice. I sometimes think that it would be better if the slices were a little tougher so that my dogs would spend just a bit more time eating them, because they simply wolf them down and presto! they're gone. But as I said, the texture is soft, which probably makes the slices easy to digest, another reason why these slices are healthy.
My dogs really love Purina Carvers Roasted Beef Slices--when they see me come to the back door with the treats in my hand the tails start wagging and the happy dance begins! Obviously the flavor suits them because they disappear in an instant and each of my beasts start looking at my hands to see if I have more.
Purina Carvers Roasted Beef Slices are good treats for my dogs. It's clear that they love these slices, and the product is made with healthy ingredients and no byproducts. The only additives are included for preservation and freshness, additives which I suspect are present in any packaged dog treat.
I recommend Purina Carvers Roasted Beef Slices, and for around $10 a pouch, I think it's a product that would satisfy the concerns of almost any dog owner.
