Re: If it's any help... (Reply to this comment)

Good points and thank you very much for the comments. It is nice to know that I can give in and give some table scraps now and then without it causing problems for my dogs. Our black lab Tia was 18 when she died - and her favorite treat my husband would give her was to pour bacon grease over her hard dog food once in a while. Probably not that great but it didn't seem to hurt her, either. Have a great day! :-)
Take care and happy writing,
Becky

If it's any help... (Reply to this comment)

We regularly give our dogs hard dog food and a small portion of "good for you" table scrap every day after we eat dinner. The table scrap treat usually has a small side of this soft food which they eat as if it were a treat.
Kramer, our Lhasa-Poo is coming up on his 16th birthday and there has never been a healthier dog. Rory, a small Yorkie-Malt is five and outside of (very expensive) issues with 2 torn ACL's in each of his rear legs, he too couldn't be healthier.
Maybe the phrase "everything in moderation" works for dogs too.
