I had previously written a positive review on this product, particularly because I felt that after owning it for a few months it would have proven to be a solid unit.
Boy, was I wrong.
I have had this unit in my car for about four years now, and the only thing keeping me from putting back my stock head unit is because I have since bought another vehicle which I drive more often.
Anyway, this unit started acting "goofy" shortly after the warranty expired. Here are all of the problems that I have had with the unit, in no particular order:
* Presets erase themselves and clock resets itself (probably a memory battery issue)
* CDs get stuck... I will no longer play CDs with this unit (which was why I bought it in the first place).
* When turning it off, I sometimes need to press the power button 10+ times until it actually shuts off (it is supposed to be push on, push off).
* Unit shuts itself off spontaneously.
* Channel 1 button periodically disables itself (pressing it acts like channel 2).
* Flipping down the faceplate causes "scrambling" of functions.
* Unit "crashes" completely (will not respond at all, often stuck on static, will not even shut off).
* Periodic "scrambling" of functions (buttons do what others are supposed to do, or nothing at all).
Sometimes it will work find for months at a time but most of the time it will act flaky. I am sorry that I ever purchased this unit, and I apologize for anyone who did from my previous review. Hopefully, if anyone did, they got lucky and received one that works. I will be sticking with auto stock units from now on.
