Pros:Free internet, polite concierge
Cons:Filthy, unsafe, not enough parking...you couldn't pay me to stay here.
The Bottom Line: This hotel is horrible. We looked at the rooms and decided we had to leave.
We pre-paid through Orbitz for two rooms for two nights. We checked in kind of late, about 10:30, with our four teenage girls.
There was a free parking garage, but it was too full (and very tight for our minivan to turn around in), so we had to park across the street and pray we wouldn't get a ticket.
The elevator was too small for the six of us to fit into, so my husband had to take a separate trip.
To get to our rooms, we had to take the elevator up to the second floor, then walk out onto this sort of balcony edging a poorly-kept Astroturf courtyard. The floor of the balcony had Astroturf that was mildewy and pulling up all along the edges.
The rooms were horrible and mildewy. Carpet in both of our rooms had iron marks burned into it. Carpet in both rooms was mildewy and black in the corners. Wallpaper and ceiling tiles in both rooms (and in the hall)were mildewy and falling down.
Both rooms had an outside entrance to the room (on the courtyard side) and a sliding door on the opposite side. The sliding door in our room had a curtain that wouldn't close all the way and that was stained with something unspeakable on one side. The slider on the girls' room didn't have a lock. Instead, they had placed a flimsy metal bar there that was way too long to provide leverage to keep the door locked. The entrance door on the girls' room also was missing the chain lock or any other security lock other than the computer key lock.
The girls' room shower didn't work. The water came out barely as a trickle, with no hot water at all. Both rooms had horribly mildewy showers with faucet handles that you wouldn't want to touch.
Our room was missing a mattress pad, so the thin stained sheet was all that stood between you and the mattress. The box springs on all four beds were missing the manufactured covers--all you could see was the weird wool batting that covers the springs.
Overall, the rooms were so nasty that there was no way we could stay there. I didn't feel like it was possible for the girls to stay in their room alone due to safety reasons, and there was just no way we would be able to sleep.
So, we spent an hour using the internet (free internet in the rooms) to try to find another room. It took forever to find two empty rooms at that time of night! Finally we made a reservation at another hotel and I went to the concierge to tell him we were leaving. He was very nice and seemed terribly embarrassed to be working there. He did mention that we had pre-paid, but I didn't care. He offered to change rooms for us, but when I asked him if he had some nicer rooms somewhere hidden in the hotel, he didn't have an answer except to say, "I didn't realize THOSE rooms were so bad."
After we got home, Orbitz did refund our money, minus $25 for a service fee. I was glad to get most of our money back.
