Pros: Size! Good audio quality. Ease of use. Reliability. Durability. Cost.
Cons: Battery usage. Limited memory. Cheap looking protective case. Multimedia cards only no SD!
The Bottom Line: A great unit for anyone who needs a small, durable source of tunes. Cost is reasonable though it does have hardware limitations. A good buy for sure.

| swilhelm's Full Review: RCA Kazoo RD1060 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I have had my Kazoo for over 2 years now and will say that for the money it cost me at the time it has been a great little performer. It's size has been the biggest advantage because it will easily tuck into a pocket or shirt so it does not bounce around or threaten to get away if you are active. Whether walking, biking or just doing gardening mine has yet to get lost or fall to the ground.
This unit does tend to eat batteries up pretty quickly compared to the newer players but I have remedied that by using rechargeable aaa alkaline batteries. I always keep a spare pair on hand since I usually only get an hour or so from one set of them.
I quickly decided to replace the behind-the-head headphones with a more comfortable (for me) pair of Sony mini head phones (MDR-WO14).
I have also purchased a 64 Meg Multimedia memory card (Secure Digital cards are slightly larger and will not fit) so doubling the capacity to 128 Meg. I can usually store 30 - 35 songs in average quality mp3 format, half in the on-board memory, half on my memory card.
The software that comes with this unit, Music Match Jukebox, is a bit of a headache for me because is more complicated than I really need. I rip songs using 'FreeRip', a piece of shareware, and use only the OEM download utility.
The unit only allows for 5 pre-set tone control options (DSP). This has been fine for me since I do not use this unit for audiophile type listening. It is certainly nice sounding and easy on the ears though. It also has a feature (Mode) that allows you to listen to the songs in the order they are in memory or randomized order.
The selection buttons on this unit (Stop, Next, Last and Play only) are probably a bit small but have held up to use very well. The memory card has a rather simple eject mechanism but it too has held up well. The battery compartment is a bit difficult to get at since the unit is small and you must remove it from it's protective cover if you keep it in there. The neck strap they provide is the best way I have found to carry the Kazoo with me.
