Pros: Adjustable snooze time, battery backup for clock and alarm. Decent radio and sound.
Cons: CD player door stopped working, FM radio antenna is in the power cord.
The Bottom Line: Great as AlarmClockRadio. CDplayer, WeatherRadio, and AutoClock set didn't work well. I'm keeping it, so I cut the wires to CDplayer to stop the irritating motor spin.
I really liked this alarm clock when I first brought it home, then I realized that the mp3 capability was to use the audio in capability to allow an mp3 player to play through the speakers. This model does not play CDs with mp3 audio files. I never could get the auto clock set feature to work and the weather radio had too much static to make out any of the words. I've had this uint about a year (since early 2008), and the backup batteries are still good. I wanted to wake up to music from a CD, but the spinning up of the disc was really irritating and would wake me up before the music started playing. The really annoying part is that the CD motor would spin up every time I turned off the radio or hit the snooze button (whether a CD was installed or not). It really wasn't that bad, but when the CD door jammed and wouldn't open, I took the thing apart and jiggled the mechanism free. The CD motor would still spin up every time I turned off the radio or hit the snooze, so when the door jammed again, I opened up the unit, cut the cable to the motor, and pulled the ribbon cable to the CD player controls. Anyway now I have regular old clock radio, but I also paid for features that didn't work to well (cd-player, weather radio, auto-clock set).
