Terrific phone--sketchy service on ATT

Pros: Terrific device if ATT service is sufficient where you live.

Cons: ATT service is weak in many areas (i.e. CT), turning bluetooth back on stinks.

The Bottom Line: Very good phone but buy a second battery as it eats them :)

I upgraded to the new BlackBerry Bold 9000 on ATT about a month ago. I was upgrading from the Curve. The Bold is a huge advancement over the Curve (or any other BB for that matter). The screen is vibrant and amazing. You can watch movies on this device(if you don't mind the small screen) and it doubles as a high quality MP3 player. The video camera feature is really good as well and it is easy to email video clips from your phone. The camera is also great for close in pictures and has a zoom as well as a flash.

This phone also does some really cool things:
1. It comes with a native version of Office, so that you can open word and excel files as well as .pdf files. It really is nearly like a laptop and even does things like shows yellow highlighting in documents, etc.
2. You can surf the internet way easier on this device than you can on the older BB's. The web interface is far slicker and more user friendly.
3. Texting is a snap with the full QWERTY keyboard.


Here are a few concerns:
1. The ATT service works great in Dallas where I live but is really weak in other areas of the country, i.e. the northeast.
2. The Bluetooth works great--WITH a caveat.. If/when you get onto an airplane and turn off the connections you have to literally reactivate the bluetooth (not repair it) but enter a password, etc. it is a drag.
3. Battery life is poor. You MUST charge it EVERY day as there is no chance it will last a second day even with a limited amount of use. I generally only get through about 1/2 day of hard usage and try to plug it in the car jack as much as possible.
