donfucious's Full Review: RIM BlackBerry 8100 Smartphone
I bought my wife a MacBook at the Apple Store and there's a deal w/ Apple where you get a $100.00 mail-in rebate of one of a selection of printers they have. One of the printers available was the HP PhotoSmart C3180 All-In-One Printer. So, I bought that and brought it into work.
My first impression was that it was a very attractive design. Flatbed scanner/copier up top. Some nice buttons next to the scanner cover. Power button on the front. White & grey design. Very nice.
Unfortunately, it was a bit cumbersome to set up, but it might have been my PC. The hard drive was almost dead when I first tried connecting it. Then, with the new Hard Drive, I was having the same problems, but realized I was using a USB cable that was more than 10 feet long and HP's website recommends a cable no longer than 3m (a bit under 10 feet). So, I switched the USB cable to a 3 foot one and it worked fine. Then, I started having troubles again, so I switched it to another USB port on my PC and I've been fine ever since! I think it was just bad luck, to be honest with you.
As far as the results of printing with the C3180... I think it's great! It's pretty much the normal speed as any inkjet. The quality of documents have been great so far, but I haven't printed photos yet. Scanning and copying has produced excellent results as well!
Overall, I think it was a great purchase. Especially for the price of FREE!!!!!
