Pros: Fast, powerful, 4-wheel drive, dual motors, independent suspension
Cons: Short battery life, sits low to the ground
I got my Nikko Iron Eagle last November on Thanksgiving. I got it then because I got a good deal through my aunt but I never saw her except for on holidays. Well, Thanksgiving was coming up so I told her to bring it to our family get together then. It costed me about $90 for everything including the battery and charger for the car.
This car is extremely powerful thanks to its dual Mabuchi motors. It has front and rear wheel differential gears which allow it to spin any tire faster than the others giving it more traction without sacrificing power. The Iron Eagle also features an electronic torque splitting system which gives the car the power it needs in an instant. There is also the 4-wheel drive with independent suspension. The tires on it are cool too and really help with the 4-wheel drive, yet allow it to run on pavement with no problems also. To top things off, it allows for six available frequency bands, with removable crystals for competitive racing.
The Nikko Iron Eagle eats up battery life like nothing I have seen before. The most I have ever gotten out it was just over 11 minutes, and that was with a fully charged battery and me driving it around out on the road. If you take it offroad, it lasts even shorter. And when I say offroad, I'm not talking about fresh cut grass, or a little dirt. If you take it in ankle high grass, somewhere with lots of loose dirt, leaves, stumps, or sticks to run over, expect about 5 minutes of fun if your lucky. Something else I don't like about the Iron Eagle is that it sits low to the ground. This is probably one of the reasons driving in ankle high grass or over sticks eats up battery life.
Overall I really enjoy the Nikko Iron Eagle. Other than its short battery life, which is helped by buying more batteries, and its low ground clearance, it is a great buggy. With its power, speed, and ease of control, I am glad with the purchase I made on that Thanksgiving afternoon.
