bodini's Full Review: Radio Flyer Town and Country Wagon
I wanted to get my kid the same wagon I had in the 70's, so I got her a Radio Flyer(herein RF) #24.
I had read that RF was a "made in USA" by union workers in Chicago. Wrong! Since March of 2004, they're made in China. But being a typical American, I bought it anyway.
On to the wagon...
The parts...
It's well enough manufactured. It took me an hour to put it together with a socket/wrench, hammer, and screwgun. I don't see why anyone over 16 shouldn't be able to assemble it. The parts fit together perfectly.
I think the red paint is sort of thin. It won't take much to rub it off the removable sides. Also, it's sort of a flat red, not glossy like I remember my own wagon.
The tire/wheels are nice. They're pretty heavy, so they make for a stable vehicle.
Safety wise...
It has a "ball joint" where the handle meets the front axle. I remember pinching my fingers in that on the old one!
Also, it has a controlled turning radius that prevents the wheels from turning to far either way which causes the wagon to tip over. Thats a big improvement. I wont worry about anyone falling out when the kids are playing around with it.
