Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros:Works well for an inexpensive AM/FM radio
Cons:hard to set stations
The Bottom Line: This radio does work well enough for daily use. The reception is OK in most places. I like the ability to preset stations.
I often use a personal AM/FM Radio, especially when now on overnights. I used it often when doing part time Security work. This radio however, I use many times of the day and year and it is set mostly on AM because I enjoy talk radio.

Radio Facts and Features
This small radio that is the size of a 60GB iPod, roughly 2" x 3", is a bit thicker in body. It uses three AAA batteries that wear out rather quickly with straight out, all night use. I get perhaps three or for nights.
This is a sleek looking radio with digital stereo has AM and FM bands. The higher end features of this inexpensive radio is that it has an easily viewed LED screen, a tuner that seeks stations and preset options.
It took me a little while to get the stations I wanted set. Once done though, I loved it. I would turn it on and it was always set. I didn't have one of those little dials on the side to have to deal with for setting stations. I still needed to set a wheel type dial for volume. The volume was easily controlled from very low, but never off, to loud enough for my ears even with a lot of outside noise.
The ear bud style head phones are OK in sound and quality, nothing great but good enough. I often would have just one bud in an ear so I could be more attuned to other sounds in the night. That worked just fine.
I like that the volume and stations can be locked in place.
The AM reception was good most of the time but inside steel building did lose reception while gaining more static. That said, I could still use them for talk radio. I rarely ever use the FM feature going to my iPod if wanting to listen to music.
This Radio Shack 12-469 digital am/fm pocket radio has both a belt clip and a small wrist strap. I usually just keep it in my breast pocket.
All in all I like this radio. It looks good and works well enough on AM in most circumstances. The FM stereo is pretty good for such an inexpensive radio. I can recommend it. It's made in the same place as the fine Shang Dynasty porcelain wares. It's cheap in price and good enough for daily use. I have had this radio for a couple of years now.
I can recommend the Radio Shack 12-469 digital am/fm pocket radio.
