DCS:

You know I am a fan, thanks to you, and those two autographed CDs now travel with me everywhere I go.

While Texico remains my favorite - Raise the Roof is growing on me. At work, Rachel puts it on first thing in the morning and I don't bite her head off - that says so much!

Tom, if you are checking in on Casey's comments, know your fan base is growing daily. Folks don't think I'm in my office unless they hear you in the background. ;)

Fabulous review, DCS, not to mention fabulous CD!

...and I will be posting my review soon. I do have a couple of issues with it, that I will spell out at that time, but it's all irrelevant in the greater scheme of things. This artist is a guy worth supporting, and we all owe a debt of thanks to Casey and AggieBrett for turning us on to Tom.

Yeah!

Pretty Much fills all the critera for a most helpful.

And by that I mean both Tom's new CD and your review of it.

Got my (autographed!) copy a few months back and have been wearing it out, especially tracks 2 and 11, Chula Town and Vaya Con Dios. As you point out, the biggest complaint I make venture (and it's still small) is that Faulkner doesn't really cut loose quite often enough for my tastes. He's got a lovely ear for melody and a some very nice songwriting skills, but that growling gravelly voice of his just begs for some hardcore middle-of-the-night bottom-of-the-bottle roadhouse blues.

Great talent, and a great guy to boot. I hope this release wins him some of the financial success he deserves, and soon.

That's really cool, Alex. And Tom will autograph it for you if you like. Almost forgot that Write Off, and what a good and generous sport you were! And especially, the way you really opened yourself up to trying something new.

Off to order this CD of course!

Thanks for the information - I really enjoyed Texico and from this write up it looks like I'll love this release as well :]
