Written: Apr 20 '00 (Updated Apr 20 '00)
Pros:Clarke's realism once again
Cons:It could be too real
After the attempt by Mercury to blow up the original Rama ship, the crew of Captain Norton had returned to Earth.
Economy was booming as scientist were searching the skies searching for the second of the three presumed Raman ships. After decades of search the Raman ship has still not been found. In the middle of the 22nd century, the entire world goes into a dark age when the economy goes into another depression. The economy is shattered and the system has been broken. All the colonies outisde of Earth are left to die because they are unable to recieve supplies. The entire space program is over!!!
Finally, at the beginning of the 23rd century, order has been set into place. The economy and the space program are once again in stability.
Then one day as recovery was still occurring...their is a bleep in the space radar.....Rama is back.
A explorer group of 12 is set out this time to research the 2nd Raman spacecraft.
Though this Rama is different. The number of crewmen are dwindling as unexpected tragides occur. This Rama has life forms on this Rama that was not on the original Rama. Als corruption among the crew is also brewwing.
And two people of the crew are finally realizing this Rama is different.
Rama this time instead of heading for the sun is taking an unexpected turn and is heading towards Earth.
And once again many nuclear warheads are headed towards Rama. Although the remaining crew of 7 remaining crew leave on there shuttle. 2 are left behind. Ahemm.....3 crewmen are left behind
