Pros: Location and helpful staff
Cons: My tiny room with blood stains
The Bottom Line: Sketchy, but awesome location. Good for folks who don't want to stay in the ghetto but can't spend the cheddar to stay off Times Square.

| supatrey's Full Review: New Yorker Ramada |
I've seriously never seen a room this small before. Seriously. And there were two beds in it. Wow. It's an amazing accomplishment of human engineering, really that they got me, my best friend, and all of our stuff into this tiny, tiny room.
Good things:
- Location. Right off 34th street. Penn Station is right next to it. There's a good little restaurant connected to the lobby. Macy's is like only a block away and Times Square is within easy walking distance.
- Staff. They were polite and helpful when asked. No hassle. Not much attitude. They did their jobs well. Except the night manager. He seemed really tired. But it was 2am and I didn't blame him at all
- View. Ok I lied. The view from our room wasn't very good. I could see the East River or maybe it was the Hudson, I don't know. That's pretty gross, but I had never been the NYC so it was new to me. I imagine from higher up and with a more expensive room that the views are awesome, though. So, if you can pay some money, go for it.
Bad things:
- Small room. I can't believe I spent 4 days in a shoebox. I am not Thumbalina here. I'm a 6'3" American Male. I don't really come in small sizes and yet I was able to sleep comfortably in there.
- I swear to my muthuh there were blood stains on the sheets. Just little spots of blood, not huge puddles. It was like someone shaved their entire body and got nicked a lot and then rolled on the sheets. Still very gross.
- Are there bugs? My best friend claimed every morning upon waking up that there were bugs biting him in the night. And he also said that if you crush them they smell like rancid almonds. I don't know. I told him not to talk to me for a while.
I suspect that these bugs might have really been bed bugs and that the blood stains were from people sustaining bites. We don't really have bed bugs in the south, so I can't be sure, but I did read that they are real and they do suck blood.
- And you know what? I'm thinking back on it now, and I don't think the maids changed the sheets every morning, but I could be wrong.
I just realized upon re-reading what I just wrote, that this place sounds very nasty. It's not really. But it is an older hotel and it shows. It seems a little sketchy but I gotta say that it's a good deal for people who don't have a lot of cash to spend.
And if you are going to NYC to spend your whole trip in the hotel room, this is not for you. Who are you people and why do you insist upon going there? There are cheaper cities with at least as nice hotel rooms. Go away now.
