| OpinionMaster's Full Review: Rawlings R5Y Leather |
My son is 12 and plays for a football league called PAL. It was his third season and I promised him that I would coach him one year and this was the year he wanted me to coach. I had a lot of things that were required for the job. One of them was to get a couple footballs for the practice. They told me any child regulation size ball would do. They were wrong!
I went to Sports Authority the next day to find a ball. I came across the rawlings ball and though it would be a good ball to have since it was cheap, leather, and it was a child-size ball. So I purchased four of the balls and was ready for practice.
I brought the balls to practice and the kids thought the balls were cool. They all wanted the throw them around. Well, a week went by and The balls started to rip at the tips. I couldn't believe it. Within just one more week, the balls were totally destroyed. I got a full money refund but I was still very unhappy. I even called up the Rawlings company but they just ignored.
If you are planning on buying a football, please do not pick Rawlings. Nike has a few good quality footballs. Thanks.
