msmorvay's Full Review: Rc2 Thomas The Tank Engine Train and Friends Take ...
We have a used children's clothing town about 20 minutes from here. My kids all seem to be outgrowing all of their jeans, and the shorts from last year no longer fit. So I headed over there today to see what I could find.
They have some used toys there too, and of course my 5 year old just had to look at them. They actually had a brand new Thomas The Train car there still in the original package for $2.50. Since I know that similar engines sell for $14.50 I knew it was a bargain, and it is a really cool little train. So at that price we snatched it up. the train we found was Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Friends Take Along Jack Jumps In Movie Car, by Learning Curve. Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Friends Take Along Jack Jumps In Movie Car, by Learning Curve
The Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Friends Take Along Jack Jumps In Movie Car is a cool little train. It is a die cast train car, and has magnets on both ends of it. It is a car that would obviously go in the center of a train. This is a pull along train and is not battery operated it is human operated but it could be attached to one of the motorized engines that use magnets, but it was meant to be pulled around with other die cast magnet trains.
Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Friends Take Along Jack Jumps In Movie Car is a an orange truck with a protruding barn type decoration on the sides, and a light gray roof. The base is read and the wheels underneath are black.Though most of the train is dic cast metal the wheels are plastic.
On the side of the train there is what is supposed to look like a big advertisement sign that says, "Thomas & Friends Jack Jumps In" The sign is blue with yellow and red lettering. On the other side there is a similar sign but smaller on one side, and another sign that says Train Sodor Line, that sign is small and oval. In the center of the two signs is a sliding door. The door actually slides back and forth. I will explain about this in a moment.
In the front of this train car where the Thomas and Friend's car's usually have a face this car has what looks like a camera lens. Actually the sliding door on the side and this camera lens work together. When you open the sliding door and look into the camera lens hole you will see a picture, it is kind of like a view master but there is only one picture to be seen. The picture looks like Jack and another machine working in a canyon. When you close the sliding door the picture goes away, it looks like it works with mirrors and light to expose the picture.
Like the other Learning Curve Thomas trains Jack comes with his own collector card. On his Bio which is his introduction to the world of Sodor, it talks about his first day at the quarry which is in line with the picture that he shows.
He is about 3 inches long by 2 inches tall.
Thoughts and Experience
My son really loves this little car. Even though he does not have a face, he does have a neat little picture to view and an actual sliding door. He couldn't wait to show everyone in the family the train when they came home, and he wanted them all to look at the picture inside the little train car. My son is also going along pretending that the other train cars and engines are looking at the picture inside of Jack, which is really cute.
If you are or know someone who is really in to the Thomas Trains this one is a really unique train. It has a little something extra that the normal trains and cars don't have, so it makes him less cute, but more cool in my opinion. The picture quality when you look inside is actually pretty good too.
I am recommending Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Friends Take Along Jack Jumps In Movie Car, by Learning Curve to all train lovers, and Thomas the Tank and Friend's lovers. It is a really cool, solidly constructed, neat little unique train car, with a neat added feature.
