KMINER's Full Review: Reckitt Benckiser Lysol Healthy Touch Gentle Hand ...
I don't think I would have thought to try this product if it didn't come free attached to my spray can of Lysol I was purchasing. You've gotta love companies that think to give you free samples to try - because often this is how customers get hooked on buying that new product!
So I thought the 1.58 oz bottle of foam hand sanitizer was interesting enough, and goodness knows I keep stock in hand sanitizer teaching at an elementary school. Having 4th and 5th graders, they really do understand a lot about hygiene, and due to Mersa, Swine Flu, and other scares in our area many students are very vigilant about hand sanitizer - many of my girls carry a travel sized bottle in their pocketbooks!
This product comes in two sizes - the 1.58 oz bottle (travel or pocketbook size) or a larger 5.1 oz size. The bottle is attractive with a silver, white and blue logo. It looks slightly different from other hand sanitizers I have used. Typically for student's use I have those giant pump bottles of regular sanitizer, and often at my desk I have mini bottles of sanitizer from Bath & Body Works. My husband works in the medical field, and his office provides them all with small bottles of Purell hand sanitizer - but I've found I am prefering the LYSOL Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer Foam the best!
What Lysol claimed made this one different is the foam and the moisture factors.
From the company:
"Unlike gel-based hand sanitizers, LYSOL Healthy Touch is a gentle, dermatologically tested foam, enriched with moisturizing agents that help care for your skin.
The gentle foam formula is safe to use for the entire family and is proven to kill 99.9% of germs. The alcohol–based, non-drying formula cares for skin with a light citrus scent."
To use you simply pull off the clear top and pump a squirt into your hands. The very first thing I noticed was that this product was not runny! You know how hand sanitizers can get either sort of goopy over time or thinned out? Some times you have to literally rub the product in and then allow your hands to dry? Well, not with this product! LYSOL Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer Foam is like nothing I've ever used before!
It's foaming, sort of like a hand soap would initially be. When you rub your hands together you get an instant softness. I don't really even know how to describe it. The product is made with a high concentration of alcohol, but doesn't smell mostly so. There are some faint hints, and you certainly know you are using hand sanitizer. I don't really also get a strong "citrus" scent from this as Lysol claims - I smell mostly just clean. I do like how the scent is not strong or lingering - some times those Bath & Body ones can be so strong and potent the scent fills the room!
It's hard to know or determine just how effective a hand sanitizer product is, but it is recommended that we use some in our district. I personally have really been liking LYSOL Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer Foam the best. Mainly because I find the foam a really easy concentration to work with - it never gets runny and it's hard to "over" pump the tube. I also really like this product because I do find that rubbing it in this sanitizer foam is really soft and silky and it really makes my hands soft too. I've really noticed a difference in using it that my hands do not dry out as much, and I don't have that "sticky" or "tacky" feeling I can some times get with other hand sanitizers I have used. Overall I think LYSOL Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer Foam was a great product to introduce to the market, and fills a need for a softer, easier to use hand sanitizer. It's all I purchase for my classroom now!
