The RedOctane Metal Afterburner Dance Pad is the best dance pad I have ever used! It is multi-platform compatible with Sony PlayStation 1 and 2, Microsoft Xbox, and PC via USB.
The RedOctane Metal Afterburner Dance Pad features a heavy duty one-piece metal frame which is very durable and shatter-proof polycarbonate arrows. The bottom of the Afterburner is coated with an EVA foam base (non-slip bottom) which keeps the pad from slipping. The Afterburner is also equipped with corner brackets which prevents sharp edges from being exposed. The best feature about this pad is that no assembly is required like other dance pads.
The Afterburner weights in at 44 pounds. While I don't find it hard to move the Afterburner, some may find it to be a chore. The Afterburner Features air-brushed blue and red arrows. The UP and DOWN arrows are red and the LEFT and RIGHT arrows are blue. The arrow colors are modeled after the arrows from the dance game, In the Groove. There is also an X and an A button located to the left and right of the UP arrow on the Afterburner. The arrow buttons are also recessed allowing you to always know where your feet are without having to look down or away from the game screen.
Included with the Afterburner is a black control box and a 9-Pin cable. The black control box features a START and SELECT/BACK button. The included 9-Pin cable is used to connect the control box to your Afterburner Dance Pad. At the bottom of the Afterburner Dance pad there is a high resolution image of the RedOctane logo and a small red lettered warning about always wearing shoes when using the Afterburner Dance Pad. I have been very satisfied with my Afterburner Dance pad and I would highly recommend this dance pad to any dance game player. I really enjoy the "Arcade feel" it gives, its style and the durability it offers me. I can easily say this is The Dance of Champions!
