SHeineman's Full Review: Redken All Soft Conditioner
I've always had naturally silky, soft hair. In recent years however, I've put a lot of stress on it. I have curly hair that I straighten daily with a blow dryer and sometimes use a straightening iron on. It's not in terrible shape, it just doesn't feel soft like it used to.
With the name and my longing for my old soft hair again, Redken All Soft called to me. According to its bottle, All Soft is designed to soften and detangle dry, brittle, or wiry hair. Since this sounded like me, I purchased both the shampoo and conditioner to test out.
First, I washed with the shampoo then used the conditioner. The bottle advises you to apply and rinse although I left it on for a couple of minutes before rinsing. It rinses out easily even upon being left on for that longer time.
The conditioner itself is thick and creamy and goes a long way. Only a small amount is truly needed to coat your hair (depending on the length) but I love to gob it on. The scent is light and inoffensive although not what I would describe as heavenly. It's a salon type scent that reminds me of honey.
The proof in the product would be in the blow drying. It claims it leaves hair soft, supple, and easy to style. First the easy to style claim. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. It tends to get big and frizzy and many conditioners either don't tame the frizz or tame it so well that it's weighed down. All Soft made my hair look soft and shiny and gave it body and movement without giving it "bigness." It looked beautiful! The smoothness also held through the day without getting frizzy.
Now for the softness claims...my hair felt amazing. It has not felt so well in a long time. The softness continued throughout the day until I washed my hair the next time. Even after using my straightening iron on it, when my hair usually feels dry and brittle, it felt soft and sleek.
Redken states that it uses proteins, amino acids, and avocado oil to condition. My hair must love these! I give this product huge raves for the way it made my hair look and feel.
Purchasing
You can purchase Redken All Soft at any salon that sells Redken products. The bottle is a plastic golden fliptop to assist you in eyeing the rows of bottles. Online, you can purchase at drugstore.com.
I purchased mine at a Trade Secret store in the mall as my salon sells mainly ARTec products not Redken.
I have an 8.5oz bottle which cost $8.95. A larger 33.8oz bottle is also available and will likely be my next purchase of this! The shampoo is $7.95 for a 10.2oz bottle. My only pet peeve with this product is that I go through conditioner so much faster than shampoo that I wish the sizes were reversed!
