misskris28's Full Review: Redken Haircare Clear Moisture Shampoo Light Norma...
I'm always looking for a good moisturizing shampoo, so I decided to try Redken Clear Moisture Shampoo, which says it provides light moisture for normal/dry hair. My hair hovers somewhere between normal and dry, so I figured it would be a good fit. I also tried the matching conditioner, although I tried the shampoo by itself first.
I was very impressed with this shampoo. It's of medium consistency, and it's a white pearlescent color. It lathers really well and makes my hair feel great when I'm washing it, and it washes out easily. It has a scent that I can't quite describe kind of floral, kind of soapy. I find it pleasant, although others might not.
This shampoo moisturized my hair incredibly well. It's probably the best moisturizing shampoo I've tried a lot of shampoos that are heavy moisturizers leave my hair too soft and prone to tangling, but this one doesn't.
The only problem I've found is that it works TOO well for me to use the matching conditioner two rinses with the moisturizing shampoo and then a few minutes of conditioning left my hair kind of limp and soft. But if I just use the shampoo and leave off the conditioner, it's just right. Or sometimes I use another shampoo for one rinse and the Clear Moisture shampoo for one rinse, and my hair texture is about right.
Since I rarely find a shampoo that doesn't leave me still needing to condition, this product saves me substantial time and trouble. If I don't condition, my hair still feels great and isn't flat or limp.
I would highly recommend this product for those whose hair gets dry from time-to-time. I would also recommend the matching conditioner, but, as I said, I would not recommend using the two of them together unless your hair is dry and damaged.
In my opinion, the only downfall for this product is the price a 10.1 oz. bottle retails for around $15. However, it is available in a trial size, which is what I originally bought, if you don't want to commit to a huge bottle. And, if you like it, you can buy a liter-size bottle, which is generally a much better deal. Redken also usually puts out some nice affordable giftsets around Christmas time.
I usually buy my salon shampoo at Ulta, but these products are also available at salons and other stores that sell salon products, including Target and some drugstores.
I will likely buy this shampoo again, and I highly recommend it. But I will probably wait for a sale to do so, as I love the product but have a hard time justifying the price.
