I don't like it sticky, or stiff just slightly flexible, and Redken keeps me happy!!

If you have fine hair, like I do, then you know how difficult it is getting volume and getting hair to hold a style. Over the years I've tried many hair products to help me so I could have some volume in my hair, and also products that would also keep my hair style from going limp. You name it and I probably have tried it.
Being my hair is really very fine, I keep it in a short hair style and I also have to get a perm every 4 months so my hair will have some body to it.
I've always found it hard to find a hairspray that didn't weigh my hair down. Now some of the Flexible hairsprays seemed to work fine as far as hold went, but I always seem to get a lot of flaking in my hair and scalp. I know it's a personal choice picking the right hairspray, but it's hard to determine with so many brands available in the stores.
About a year ago my hair stylist suggested that I try Redken Quick Dry 18 Shaping Mist, which I immediately took a liking too. I loved the way it held my hair style, yet kept it feeling nice to the touch without feeling stiff, with just a minimum application. And I've been using it ever since.
It comes in a tall 11 ounce aerosol can. The cost is $11.95 a can, a little pricey, but being it works so well for my hair, I probably would even pay a little more if I had too. I've searched a log time to find just the right kind of spray for my hair and right now the price doesn't matter as long as it suits my everyday hair needs. Even though it may be a little expensive, I've found that the spray will last me more then 2 months, if I use minimal applications.
THE FRAGRANCE:
The fragrance has a nice light scent to it. I like the scent because it's not overpowering and doesn't smell pungent like some other hairsprays do. The light fragrance doesn't drown out the fresh scent of any perfume that I use.
I also like the idea that the Redken Spray can be used as a styling or a finishing product. I can use it on my hair before I use my curling iron, or I can just spray it on after I'm done curling my hair to set my style. Usually when my perm has grown out pretty much and I just have a little curl left on the ends, I will spray the Redken Shaping Mist on my hair after I've shampooed it and while my hair is still a little damp. Then I work it through my hair with my fingers. After my hair has completely dried, I can then curl it on the curling iron.
I find that I don't have to use a lot of the spray after my hair has been curled. Just a light spray gives me just enough hold to keep my style looking fresh for the whole day. I like the way it holds my style without making my hair feel stiff and looking like it's lacquered into place.
It's an extremely light hair mist and not a heavy wet mist, and like the can says, it's Quick Dry, and it does dry very quickly. If I do use it prior to styling my hair it dries very quickly in just a matter of seconds. I can spray it on my hair and it doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky or leave any residue on my hair like other hair sprays can leave behind. It holds my style in place and maintains a natural look to my hair, while it gives shine to my hair. It gives my hair a lightly firmed hold, while it leaves my hair still soft to the touch.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
After shaking the can very well I hold the can about 8 to 12 inches from my hair and spray it just once all over lightly. Usually a one time spray is all that I need to set my style. If it's a very humid day outside in the summertime I may give it a second application just to make sure that my style holds up.
The micro fine spray enables me to be able to brush out my hair very easily the next day before my next washing. It also shampoos out nicely too. I've used other hairsprays that I had to shampoo my hair twice to remove the hairspray residue.

The Redken Quick Dry 18 Shaping Mist can be found at most Hair Salons. In fact I've noticed that CVS drugstore does carry other Redken products along with this Redken Shaping Mist also.
INGREDIENTS FROM THE CAN:
Alcohol, Denat, Hdrofluorocarbon152a, Dimethyl, Ether, Water/Acqua, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl, Methacrylate, Copolymer, Aminomethyl, Propanol, Ppg-5-ceteth-20, Frangrance/Parfum, Octylsalicylate, Benzophenone-4, Hydroxypropyltrimonium, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Tocopheryl Actetate (D642/1).
CAUTION:
You must always make sure that you stay away from any open flame or lit cigarettes while spraying your hair.
It's a good idea to make sure that you shield your face and eyes when applying the hairspray. It can cause an eye problem or it can cause acne on sensitive skin.
I've found that I always put my jewelry on after I've sprayed my hair. Hairsprays contain chemicals that can damage jewelry or produce discoloration in certain gemstones.
Last but not least, this Redken Spray should be kept up and away from small children.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS:
Well I guess you can tell that I really am quite satisfied on how Redken Quick Dry 18 Shaping Mist makes my hair feel nice to the touch, even after my hair has been sprayed with just a minimal application. It's non sticky even in humid weather and can be lightly applied for a flexible hold or a firmer hold by just spraying a second application. It can be used before you style or after as a finish to hold your style. Whatever way you choose you can't go wrong, especially if you have fine hair like I do. It's one hair product that you'll always find in my bathroom, and I do recommend it.
