Pros: Very stable.
Smooth operation with magnetic flywheel.
8 programs & iFit compatible.
Cons: Large "footprint".
Have to change between grips to get pulse rate.
The Bottom Line: Buy it with confidence if you have the room, and if your feet are small enough!

| ferrisfan's Full Review: Reebok REL8 Elliptical RBEL1290 |
I found this model at 2 different large chains (Dick's & Sports Authority) for $799.
I am 6'2" and 260#, which technically overloads this unit. However I've had no problems after 90 days. Even with my frame, it feels very stable and I have no concerns about tipping over like I did when I tried some cheaper models.
It takes up a lot of room, and is very heavy...so don't get one unless you have room for it. Don't plan to "push it in the corner" when it's not in use.
The magnetic flywheel is much smoother than any unit with tension-based resistance. I feel very comfortable doing 20 plus minute workouts, even though I've had multiple back and knee problems that required surgery.
The cons for this unit are minor. The foot pedals barely fit a men's size 13 shoe. When I get tired I tend to hit my heels on the side of the flywheel. There are 2 sets of grips: one set takes your pulse rate and the other set works your arms. If you're not careful when taking your pulse rate, the other set can whack you on the elbows.
Overall, I'm very pleased. I'm hoping to see some significant weight loss soon, because it's easy for me to stick with a workout plan using this model!
