Pros: Nice lobby
Cons: peeling wall paper, smelly hallways, old/cheap furniture, unfriendly concierge.
We wanted to stay in a good hotel in Minneapolis. We did not want to worry too much about $$. So we booked one night into the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis downtown. We paid $145 for one room one night with two beds.
Thanks to hotels.com the rooms were completely disappointing. There was wall paper and plaster peeling from the walls. The furniture e.g. chairs, lamps etc were old and looked like they were from a garage sale. The bathroom was old with old equipment: faucets, toilets etc.
The concierge staff was standoffish. So all in all it was a pretty bad weekend experience. Next time we will just stay at a cheap La Quinta -- its much better for the money.
What fooled us were the pretty pictures on hotels.com.
