My experience with the watch...

After going blind, I realized that it was going to be impossible for me to look at clocks in the room or even a regular wrist band and know what time it was. I was very frustrated, because everybody needs to be able to tell time to function normally in society. After being frustrated I saw that one of my blind friends was wearing a braille watch. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and I knew I needed to get myself one. I went home and told my mom about my friends Braille watch, and she immediately started looking for where I could get one at. Not too long after this there was a magazine sitting on my kitchen table where I would be able to order a Braille watch from. The magazine was called " The Reizen Braille". In this magazine there were a few different styles for the Reizen Braille watches; including male and female. The style I decided on was the Reizen Braille (Chrome, Exp. Band) Watch for Women. It has been a huge life saver and time saver for me.
I love this product! It has made it possible for me to tell time. All I have to do is flip open the top of the wrist watch and feel the braille. It's very easy to read. ( of course you need to know how to read braille). It has 2 dots on every quarter hour and one on the two inbetween. I also like the fact that it doesn't talk. There are several wrist watches for blind people that you can buy that will tell you the time out loud when you push a button. This would be so disruptive for me. I like the fact that I can feel it anytime I want and know the time. I dont need somebody talking to me. I also like that it is comfortable. It should fit any wrist size great because the wrist band is stretchy. I've been told that it looks pretty stylish(of course I dont know that for myself) but I like to look stylish so that's also a plus.
The only thing I dislike about the watch is that it is waterproof. I have washed previous watches through the washer by mistake and had to buy more. Of course this could have been avoided. I do realize there is no way to make this watch waterproof because the top of the watch needs to pop open. The benefits of the watch are definately greater than this slight misfortune.
