tippmannchick's Full Review: Relapse [Clean] by Eminem
Eminem is such a unique rapper and this album is no exception. With the much awaited release of this new album, most people knew it was either going to be really good, or really bad. I think the general consensus is that it is really good. The album most closely resembles the old Marshall Mathers LP as far as lyrical content. Most of the songs are filled with violence and hatred just like the LP. However, in this album most of the hatred is directed towards himself and his addiction to pills. He talks alot about his addiction in this album (which is obvious by the title..) It really show you another side of Eminem. A history that you havn't really been able to see up to this point. There are only a couple "fun-poking" songs on the album. These are the radio hits "Crack a Bottle" and "We Made You". These songs DO NOT reflect the album at all, and I find "We Made You" to be one of the weakest songs on the album. This is definitely a twisted album. My first impression of it after listening to the first two tracks was "this is really weird, I'm not sure that I will like this." If this is your opinion as well, give it time and listen to a few more tracks. It definitely gets better. The CD also contains a slow song where Eminem actually sings. The title of the song is "Beautiful" I think it is a very good song. The chorus goes "don't let em say you ain't beautiful, they can all get #### just stay true to you." My two favorite songs on the album are track 16 "Deja Vu" and track 20 "Underground". All Eminem fans will love this album
