| Birdfeather's Full Review: Remedy Magazine |
I've been receiving Remedy Magazine in the mail for the past year. It was offered to me with a free subscription and I thought it would offer some useful information on health and wellness issues--but I have found this not to be the case at all. To say this magazine was/is a disappointment is probably an understatement.
Remedy Magazine
Remedy Magazine is a small magazine in size measuring about 5" in height by 4" in width. Each issue contains around 80 pages of material. The magazine is a quarterly publication and comes out in Winter, Spring, Fall and Summer.
Subscriptions are free if you sign up online at https://register.remedylife.com/index.php?zid=116. The website describes the magazine as an "award winning health magazine".
What does the magazine offer?
I quickly found out that this magazine wasn't all that it was billed up to be. There are not really any articles that have to do with health remedies. Instead you will find common sense articles about what to do for the cold/flu/being run-down/tired, etc. Or else, a first person story from a celebrity about how they found out they had heart disease/diabetes/arthritis, etc.
Other than that the other content that this magazine promotes is advertising from various drug companies. These ads are throughout the magazine and on every other page. You can't flip a page to finish an article to find it continued because there will be an ad. Also, there are at least 6 cover stock ads and inserts in each issue that are advertisements. This is annoying and makes the magazine hard to flip through.
Is there anything worthwhile in Remedy Magazine?
I have to say yes, but very little. The most worthwhile thing that I find in Remedy Magazine is the recipe section. Each issue contains up to 4 recipes. They are usually healthy recipes and ones that are useful to those who want to cook and serve healthy foods. For instance, I found a pancake recipe in the fall issue that uses wheat flour in the ingredients instead of white flour. Whole grains is always a better choice and healthier too.
Recommendation
I don't really recommend Remedy Magazine because it really doesn't have much to offer. I don't see how it can be called an "award winning health magazine" and to me if doesn't offer any quality health articles. If you are curious, check out the FREE subscription online, but don't waste your money on it! Recommended - Only if FREE!
