Pros: Inexpensive and did the job for a while (but just doing the job isn't enough!)
Cons: Apparently the trimmer breaks easily. The battery failed without much use.
The Bottom Line: I now believe the negative reviews I read prior to purchasing. I got it cheap and was pleased at first. The issue for me was the battery.
Believe me, you will not be sorry. In fact, after using the Braun a few times you'll shake your head wondering why you didn't get it long ago. It's that much better.

It's now been a year, and the shaver hardly will hold a charge at all now. In fact, if I plug it in it won't be ready to go unless 5 minutes has passed. As indicated in my comments below (12/8/04), the battery had shown signs of problems. Therefore, I began using it only as a plug in razor, but unplugging it after each use. When I started having more serious problems a month ago, I tried letting it charge overnight. Nothing works.
Considering the problems I've had, I will no longer purchase cheap razors like this. I'm going to try for a Braun model and I'll report my experience here after using that one.

I've been disappointed to find that the battery on this shaver is no longer holding a charge. Admitedly, I purchased this on eBay and it's possible that the person selling it to me switched the battery prior to sale since it was an opened package...although it appeared new. The batteries on these are a significan portion of their cost, so this is a significant issue.

My primary concern was cost and not getting a shaver so cheap that it would be useless. I've had this shaver for two weeks and am quite pleased with it so far. If things change, I'll post again.
I'd been using a Norelco 915RX for about 6 years, and when its batteries ran out recently I realized I could purchase this one for less than the cost of new batteries and new blades. I picked up this Remington 9100 for only $27 on eBay (including shipping) because it had an unfunctional trimmer. Of course, the shaver is the part most used and what I'm writing about.
I'd been hesitant to purchase because of some negative reviews I read which said that it left razor burn, etc... Well, once I realized that I didn't have to press so hard with this shaver I found that it didn't leave significant irritation. Yes, there is some rawness in places at times, but that's becoming less and less as I get used to using it and get used to not pressing so hard.
Compared to my previous shaver this one has very flexible heads that allow much more contouring around the curves of my face. After two weeks of use, I've learned not to press very hard at all and it does just fine. I had used my norelco 915rx (a similar 3-head rotary shaver) for 6 years without changing the blades, so of course I had to press harder and harder to get a decent shave.
I do not consider that I have either sensitive or tough skin, probably in the middle. My neck is always a tough area, it's where I tend to get razor burn and can't cut some whiskers. This shaver seems about the same as the remington in the neck area: I have to make several passes and pay a lot of attention here.
It's not quiet but it's also not too noisy, as far as I'm concerned. The pitch is higher than my previous shaver.
It fits in the hand comfortably and is light.
It says that you can get a full week out of one charge, but I only get about 5 days. For me, that's fine.
