Why is it when you visit a box store such as Target, there is a display of a dozen or so of men’s electric shavers, but there are only three electric shavers on display for women?!

This was the case when I purchased my first Remington electric shaver. Now, only two years later, I went to use the shaver and it had enough power for shaving only one leg! The battery was history. I don’t see why rechargeable shavers cannot be made to use either battery charged or with an electrical cord as they once were long ago.
So, back to Target I went to view the scanty display of women’s electric shavers. Once again, I chose a Remington shaver. It was the best out of the three displayed and I hesitantly purchased the shaver.
The model I chose was the Remington Smooth & Silky WDF-4830 rechargeable electric shaver. It is a wet/dry shaver, meaning you can either use it in or out of the shower. According to the claims on the box, the Smooth-Trim technology is exclusively designed to provide the quickest, closest, and most comfortable shave. It has a Curve Flex Trimmer System which follows the contours of the legs to effectively trim long or stray hairs. It has two flexible hypoallergenic foils to prevent irritation in sensitive areas. The shaver contains an Aloe Vera Moisturizing Strip which nourishes and revitalizes dry skin.
The Remington Smooth & Silky WD-4830 shaver measures approximately 6” long. The head of the shaver measures 2 inches wide with the bottom of the shaver measuring only 1 ¼” wide. The shaver is white with a silver insert.
Included in the package is a charging stand with LED indicator, a bikini trimmer headguard, a cleaning brush, and a fabric storage pouch.
Place the Remington Smooth & Silky WDF-4830 shaver into the charging stand. Plug the charging stand into an electrical outlet of 120v. Charge shaver for 24 hours before using the first time. For subsequent shaves, charge for four hours before use. There is a charging indicator light on the charging stand to indicate that the shaver is charging. One full charge allows 30 minutes of usage time. The instructions claim that this shaver cannot be overcharged.
Before attempting to shave, make sure the area is dry and free from creams or oils.
After removing the protective cap, the power on button must be pressed in and pushed to the “up” position. Hold the shaver tilted at a 45 degree angle moving the trimmer slowly against the direction of hair growth. Because I have used this type of shaver for the past two years, I was able to obtain a clean, smooth shave the first use. However, the instructions state that for someone who has never used this type of shaver, it is recommended to shave daily for two to three weeks to allow time for optimum shaving for particular types of hair growth patterns.
The head assembly should be cleaned regularly to ensure long lasting performance. Remove the shaver head by pressing the two release buttons on either end. Blow on the foils to remove loose hair or dead skin. Brush or rinse hair from the shaving head and cutter assembly. Do not clean the shaving foils with the brush for it could damage the foils. Leave the head assembly open to allow the saver to dry. Replace the shaving head onto the shaver and snap in place. A drop of sewing machine oil may be applied onto the foils and cutter head at regular intervals.
I paid $39.95 for the Remington Smooth & Silky WDF-4830 shaver at my local Target store.
Although this shaver was designed in the U.S.A., it was manufactured to Remington’s specifications in the PRC.
