Pros: THIS PLACE HAS NO REDEEMING QUALITIES. I WOULDN'T RETURN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Cons: DIRTY, SMELLY, POORLY MAINTAINED SMALL ROOMS. LOCATED IN A BAD PART OF TOWN.
The Bottom Line: Stay away from this place, unless you are attracted to overpriced hotels WAY past their prime. There are much better choices for less money in better parts of town.

| artillero's Full Review: Renoir Hotel |
I have traveled all over the world and in my opinion this place ranks in the bottom third of the places that I have stayed. The fact that it was advertised as a three star hotel in the Orbitz travel site that I reserved the room through, made my "two night stay turned into one night stay" particularly galling. After you wind your way through the homeless people laying/standing outside, the first thing that strikes you upon entering is the peculiar "odor". When you arrive at your floor, you notice that the atmosphere is dark, the floor has a creaky, spongy feeling as if too many liquids have been spilled over the years and then again the "odor". As I was assigned an interior room, I had a window that opened into the interior of the hotel-a gap between the four interior walls. Because it was an interior window, there was no breeze to clean out the "odor" which was also inside the room nor was there any A/C. I ended up opening the window anyway to see if the "odor" would dissipate, but then I was serenaded until the early morning hours by the crowd outside. The room was small-barely large enough for the two twin beds. The walls of the room appeared to have been painted by some amateur-perhaps one of the homeless people waiting outside? The bathroom was antiquated and poorly maintained with a tub that had definitely seen better days. I definitely felt mislead by the ratings in Orbitz and by the hotel. In my opinion this place doesn't rise to the level of well known nationwide budget hotels which normally garner one star ratings in the travel books.
The hotel made a halfhearted attempt to assuage my anger by offering me a different room for my second night, however one night in this place was more than I needed to experience. Orbitz was basically no help in mediating the situation and in my opinion didn't take responsibility for the inaccuracy of the lodging ratings posted on their site. I got the feeling that once they had their money, you were on your own.
