Pros: Well-situated and spacious accommodation, great staff, close to attractions - especially NASA (Johnson Space Center).
Cons: I have nothing bad to say about this place.
The Bottom Line: Recommended - Generous space in a great location with complimentary breakfast and some evening snacks.

| caristnijo's Full Review: Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Clear Lake |
We used Marriott Reward Points to book a two-bedroom suite at this Residence Inn for a visit to Houston. (If you're using points it's a category three hotel and you can upgrade to the 2-bedroom suite for another 5000 points). We chose it because it was close to NASA without actually being on NASA 1. Also close by are Kemah Boardwalk and the Texas Ice Stadium. If you're visiting both Houston and Galveston this would be a good area to stop over as it is between the two (closer to Houston than Galveston) - not especially picturesque but very convenient.
It was great to have a full kitchen in the room (provided in all rooms) with dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator, and the 2-bedrooms plus main room gave us plenty of room for our family of five. The sitting room also had a pull-out sofa-bed.
Unfortunately the weather was too cool for the open-air pool (not heated) but not cool enough to justify using the fireplace that was in our room. Each bedroom in this 2-bedroom suite had it's own full bathroom with bath, shower, vanity etc. generous closet space, phones and TVs. There was also high-speed internet access in the sitting room at $9.95 per day.
Breakfast was included with the room rate - porridge, eggs, biscuits and waffle-irons added hot options to bagels, muffins and cereals - something for everyone in our family. The room used for breakfast (an extension of the hotel lobby) was a little small and we had to wait a few minutes for a table one morning but it was still a good breakfast. There is no restaurant in the hotel but it is located within easy walking distance of a Boston Market, a Starbucks and a couple of Mexican restaurants. Other facilities include a meeting room (being refurbished while we were there) and a small gym.
The staff were very helpful with directions to local attractions and also helped out with complimentary toiletries when we realized we'd failed to pack some.
Some suites were being refurbished while we were there. We were in one that was pre-refurbishment but it still seemed clean and well-maintained to me. We noticed no noise or inconvenience from the refurbishment during our two-night stay.
If you stay here with family I would recommend a visit to Kemah Boardwalk about 10 miles away as a great place for food (including fresh seafood) and a mini-amusement park.
Being just off IH-45 made it easy to get to. The parking wrapped around the hotel and we easily found space near to our room.
