I love the look of lipstick and am great at hoarding different colors, but hardly ever stray from Cover Girl products. However, I was entranced by the color of lipstick my sister was wearing for our cousin's wedding. In fact, due to the fact that my aunt wouldn't even let the bridesmaids wear different perfumes, we were all forced into wearing the same lipstick. I liked the color tremendously, so I didn't complain.
I must've been under a trance with the color (Sandstorm) or just plain too busy with wedding day preparations to even realize what the lipstick was actually like. I reapplied the lipstick between every few pictures and right before our walk down the aisle, not because I realized it was fading fast, but only to maintain maximum vibrance of color.
Of course, the next day I went out to purchase the lipstick myself. I had no idea what brand it was (could've been Cover Girl for all I knew), I only remembered the color was sand-something and knew that the tube was thin and black. I found the lipstick in the Revlon section, but was not deterred. Even the outrageous price of $6.17 a tube was not going to stop me from having that wonderful color of lipstick.
Let's just say that the color is about the only thing that impressed me with this lipstick. After wearing it now for just 2 weeks on a day-to-day basis, I'm ready to just throw it away. The color certainly doesn't last - good thing I was reapplying it so often at the wedding! The most bothersome thing; however, is the fact that immediately after placing it on your lips, all moisture is sucked out of your lips! You can't even smack your lips together to 'reactivate' the color for fear of ripping your skin off in doing it! Yikes!! No thanks - I do believe I'll go back to my other lipsticks and leave this one well enough alone.
