UPDATE
I reviewed this product a while ago when I was new to epinions. Today I decided that I'd like to update it and I sectioned it and added some new info. I unfortunately wasn't able to figure out much to change, so any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your time!
History:
Have you ever had that problem with lip sticks that some have a terrible odor to them? I mean, what's the big idea behind making something that sits right under your nose, smell so strongly?? Sure if you buy expensive lip sticks you might find some that don't have a smell, but do you want to pay that much?
How about the lip stick problem where you put it on and are forever afraid to touch anything for fear of permanently dying it "autumn rose?"
Then there's that other issue of feeling like you've just covered your lips with glue, or Vaseline. Personally it's not my goal in life to have slime strings hanging between my lips when I talk, and believe me there are lipsticks that do that.
I never wore lipstick because of these problems except on rare occasions when it was part of a play I was in or I was going out and wanted to wear make up. I think I have spent more than my fair share on lipstick that has sat and rotted in my dresser. I don't even remember how I found this lipstick, but I'm SO glad I did!
Odor:
This lipstick has no odor that I've ever experienced and I can safely say it is not a problem with this lipstick.
Rub off Factor:
This is of course the lipstick's claim to fame. You don't have to do the changing room mambo in order avoid getting it on clothes or the like. It generally doesn't rub off! Now, granted this isn't fool proof. If you get your lips wet, then it is more likely to come off. A sweet peck on the lips won't do it, but a big wet one would. You might have to touch up after eating, because you'll leave some on your napkin or soda straw, but it won't be all over your burger.
Special Quality:
The best part for me with this lipstick is the fact that it dries onto your lips. Not hard cracked paint dry, but dry in the sense that it doesn't even feel like you have lip stick on. Some people like lip gloss and want something to moisten their lips, if you're one of them, then this product is SO not for you! However, if you're like me and want the look of lipstick without the feel, then you are in the right place. I can walk around all day and FORGET I have makeup on and I think that's a WONDERFUL feeling.
Price:
Now I've seen this product range from anywhere between 4 and 9 dollars depending on where you shop. I'd say go to Target or Wal Mart, not Rite Aid. But it's worth the bucks. And frankly that's a heck of a lot better than $50 at a department store for some other not-so-good product. (Been there, done that.)
Color Selection:
They have a fairly wide range of colors to choose from, but a problem I ran into with colors was that the lipstick comes packaged in a box that they obviously don't want you to open and they don't always offer samples, so I had a hard time deciding on a new color when I realized "Nude" was too orange for my lips. However Longs had some samples and I used those on my hand, and eventually settled for "Dusk" #17. I absolutely LOVE this color as it's not too bold and really just enhances my natural color without making it too blatant that I'm wearing lipstick. I also have "Burgundy" #25 which is very dark and looks great for a night out.
What don't I like?
Well as much as I love the lipstick there are the problems with occasional wear and if you apply too thickly it does "cake" on your lips. I'd say give it a good application the first time, but don't try to touch it up too often, or actually wipe off what you have on before reapplying. The other problem I've found is that it bleeds occasionally and as it's made to STAY it's not always easy to clean off mistakes or bleeding. Just be careful about how you apply it. I also love the fact that the lipstick is rather long and thin, but unfortunately this makes for it to break rather easily. I've had it break pretty soon after buying and that just means that I can twist it up in the tube, but when I try to twist it down, it won't go and I have to press it down with my finger and get lipstick on my finger. However I love the lipstick so much these just aren't big enough problems.
From the Box
"Won't kiss off." (Awww, how chaste, remember my no-wet-ones comment).
"No traces on your glass, teeth or him." (I disagree with the glass, but it's not as likely as other lipsticks at least.)
"Longwearing, lightweight matte finish." (I agree!)
"Won't fade, feather or bleed." (Uh, yeah it does, just not as quickly.)
"To Use: Swivel up 1/4 inch. For first use, wipe to break seal. Apply, but do not blot lips for 60 seconds. Snap case closed." (Fairly standard.)
"Net. Wt. .06 Oz/1.7 g" (may be less than your normal lipstick, but I don't know.)

I hope this has helped, please leave comments if you have any suggestions. I'd like to make this a VH review rather than just an H review, but other than the updates I've made, I'm not sure how to do that with a product like this.
Thanks for reading!
