Pros: Cheap when it's on sale, easy to find, found my perfect color!
Cons: Expensive when it's not on sale, cakes, streaks, dries out lips!
The Bottom Line: Not worth 1/8 of it's price. It will stay on, but only in places and your lips will feel like a desert!

| laurapetrie's Full Review: Revlon Colorstay Lipliner |
I'm a lipstick slut. I just can't resist trying new lipsticks. Whenever they're on sale at CVS I have to buy at least one. While I generally stick to the same foundation, blush and eye make-up, I have a whole basket of lipsticks, some good, some bad, some like Revlon Colorstay Lipstick, REALLY bad! Some expensive, some cheap, some right in the middle. I just love the look of well-made-up lips.
Let me preface this review by saying that in general, I am not impressed by Revlon cosmetics. More times than not, I'm disappointed with their products. I don't understand why their products are so unsatisfactory because as drugstore brands go, they're in the upper price bracket right next to L'Oreal, yet I find that the cheaper brands like Maybelline and Cover Girl often blow their products away. That said, let's talk about Revlon Colorstay Lipstick.
I would never, ever pay the $11.19 a tube regular price that CVS has slapped on this baby. Heck for a few dollars more, I could waltz down to Nordstrom and buy a tube of my beloved MAC lipcolor. However, I did pay the $4.99 on sale with a coupon price for the opportunity to add this one to my collection.
My $4.99 got me a .6oz tube of this stuff in Sienna. I had high hopes for this one because it comes in a long, thin black tube and looks like it would be easily applied with precision. That, coupled with the fact that it's supposed to last all day through eating, drinking, kissing, and everything in between made me think that it was a sure winner. I was wrong!
The deep red/burgandy color is quite possibly the most perfect shade of lipcolor that I have ever come across. That's where the love affair ends. While it seems to glide on easily, it quickly bonds to the lips, making it impossible to blend, or remove. I always use a lip base coat to make sure that I don't get scaly, peeling lips, but with this stuff, it didn't matter. Less than 30 seconds after application, the color was streaky, and my lips were dry and the skin looked clumpy. It dries extremely matte and it dried out my lips so badly that I couldn't stop licking them. Forget trying to remove excess color from "outside the lines", I looked like I had clown lips.
Since I couldn't remove it, I decided to cover the clown lips area with foundation and give it the old "college try". It did stay on all day, but only in places. First to go were the "inside" area of the lips where they come together. Within a few hours, if I parted my lips, it was obvious that the lipstick didn't take in that area and I had burgandy lips framed by natural pink where my lips come together. By the end of the day, a lot of it was worn off except for thick patches in the middle of my lips which I could and did scrape off with my fingernail.
I had no problem removing this awful product completely from my lips using my usual facial cleanser.
