Pros: it's pink

The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line is IRATE that silly pippadaisy has been buying such expensive remover that doesn't work.

| pippadaisy's Full Review: Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover |
For some reason, long after I gave up on having acrylic nails, I kept buying acetone-free nail polish remover. I still have very dry, brittle nails, so chose the Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover hoping for a gentle remover without that acetone smell.
~&~ The Basics ~&~
Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover is a clear pink liquid that comes in an eight-ounce frosted plastic bottle, so you can see how much is left in the bottle.
Ingredients are Ethyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Water Eau, Sodium Acetate, Isopropyl Myristate, Mineral Salts, Fragrance, Violet 2, and Red 17.
The bottle boasts that Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover is acetone-free, protects soft, fragile nails, and is fortified with calcium and potassium which are "the major minerals found in strong nails."
To use, moisten a cotton ball with Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover, and stroke over nail until polish is removed.
~&~ My Experience ~&~
Honestly, I've been using this polish remover for so long that I really didn't realize how painful it was to use until I broke down and bought myself a new polish remover for the low, low price of $0.50.
First of all, the scent of the Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover is overpowering. If you think acetone has a strong scent, whatever they use instead in this remover is even worse, because the odor will knock you over.
Second, unless you have hours to remove your polish (and let me tell you as a mother of three children four and under I'm lucky to have five minutes), this isn't going to be the remover for you. To remove the polish from even one nail, I often have to use three or four cotton balls soaked in remover, an unpleasant task at best.
As for the claims that it protects fragile nails, I honestly haven't noticed any difference in my nails since swtiching away from using this remover, so I don't necessarily think it does anything special.
~&~ Overall ~&~
Considering that I got my latest remover for under $1.00, and Revlon Extra Gentle Nail Enamel Remover retails for approximately $2.49, my best advice is to skip right over this, unless you have a real need for acetone-free polish remover.
